Vinings Church hopes to connect people to their role in the story of God. There are 950,000 people within 10 miles of Vinings, and 700,000 of them are unchurched. As we seek to reach the multitude of lost in this community, we hope to be a place where people can experience grace, not judgment, removing unnecessary barriers to Christ while clearly proclaiming the truth of the gospel. Vinings Church is being birthed out of Crossroads Church of Douglasville, a church committed to launching healthy churches.
Vinings Church is already active in the community. In 2010, we held three “serveVININGS” events in which we served the community in various ways. This is going to be a big year for Vinings Church as we put together another large community service event in the spring which will be followed by our first preview service. Preview services will then be held monthly, leading up to our September launch at the Renaissance Waverly at Galleria. We hope to launch with two Sunday morning services. As another community building event, we will be offering “Movies in the Park” beginning this summer at the Renaissance Waverly.
We are currently at 40 percent of our core team, however, we hope to continue to build on that, especially with people from the Vinings community. We would love to receive assistance from other churches, specifically in following up with our contacts in the community. In addition to praying for more local people to join our core team, we are praying for additional financial support, for our negotiations with the Renaissance Waverly, and for favor in the community.

Justin Craig and family
Justin Craig grew up in Atlanta and accepted Christ through Campus Crusade while he was a student at Georgia Tech. It was at Georgia Tech that he was discipled by godly men and started doing ministry on campus. By graduation, Justin knew God was speaking to his heart about full-time ministry.
In 1999, Justin sensed a calling to plant a church in a major city in America during a church service. He didn’t know where or when, but this started an 11 year journey of preparation, which included obtaining a Master of Theology degree from Dallas Theological Seminary. His seminary professors helped him see that his hometown of Atlanta would be the ideal place for him to plant a church.
For the past five years, he has served as a church planter in residence at Crossroads Church. Over a 40-day fast in 2010, Justin prayed that God would show him a pocket of people he could connect with that were not being reached with the gospel, and God clearly directed him to the Vinings area of Atlanta.
Justin and his wife, Elizabeth, got married in 2000 and have one son named Landon and a second baby on the way!
