Reflection Community Church
Reflection Community Church desires to reach the Asian American population in Atlanta with the message of the gospel. We have started by connecting with young Asian students on Atlanta college campuses and engaging them in a sports ministry. This sports ministry is meeting weekly at Dunwoody Baptist Church and has attracted about thirty young professionals who are drawn to games of soccer, basketball, and volleyball, but are also presented with a message from God’s Word after the games. Pastor Nathan Tran shares with these young men that while a physical workout is great, a spiritual workout is even more important.
Our desire is that within one year this group will grow in number to fifty and will grow in their spiritual desire and want to come together for a worship service as their lives are touched by the gospel.
Young Asian Americans are a difficult group to reach with the gospel, as many are post-graduate professionals who have white-collar jobs and seem to have everything going for them. We want them to see that what they are missing is a relationship with Jesus Christ.
The Christians in our group are young in their faith, so we would love to have some spiritually mature Asian American believers who would come alongside of us and assist in areas such as music and discipleship. We want to form a core group of leaders who are passionate about sharing Christ.

Nathan and Christina Tran
Nathan Tran grew up in a Christian home in Vietnam (until age 11). In high school, his friends told him they thought he would one day be a pastor, but he confesses to telling them he thought they were crazy! However, the older he got, the more he was convicted that God was calling him to serve in ministry. After marrying his wife, Christina, in 2005, Nathan decided it was time to go to Bible College and enrolled at Boyce College for his undergraduate work. After that, Nathan’s conviction about his calling to ministry grew stronger, and so he enrolled at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he went on to get his MDiv. Nathan soon found himself burdened by the large Asian community in Atlanta and decided it was time to take a step of faith. He and his wife, Christina, were well established in North Carolina with a home and high-paying jobs, but in 2008 they knew God was calling them to ministry in Atlanta.
